Ed Schliffke catches sea bass like it’s going out of fashion. He used to catch bass and sell them to Rick Stein but now he’s 100% catch and release. Ed is one of fishing’s big characters. Watch and enjoy.

you ‘ve got titanium balls mate. I wouldn’t like to be in your place , what you’ve done was really risky, the shark could easily pull you into the sea. thank the gods beasts have no intelligence just instinct. Lucky you next time go fishing with a bigger boat.

@somey3640 It’s a Hobie revolution. I still have it but now use a prowler ultra 4.7. both very good kayaks

  9. vicfisho says:

Top video. Looked like a Hobie Revolution kayak.
To all saying he should have removed the hook – Cutting the line is the safest way of releasing a shark. Best for both the angler and shark. The hook dissolves in only few days being in salt water.

  10. somey3640 says:

What type of kayak do you use because you obviously got it going on, awesome video…..inspiring

@MsTimotay Do you realize how north your country is? There aren’t going to be sharks a mile out from shore. However, there might be sharks 500 miles south.

  26. creamtt says:

@spewmanity Some days they want it fast, some days they want it slow, use both methods on the day.

  27. spewmanity says:

Every book I’ve read tells you to vary the retrieve and reel slowly for bass. Ed seems to quickly reel in at a constant speed – so can anybody tell me (as a newbie) what’s the best method?

a 10llb bass is sixteen years old. Slowest growing fish in teh UK waters, once they get to about 4llb they mate for life …so …putting them back is a good idea especially the bigger ones they are the spawning fish.
